The brand name Zimasa is a fusion of Zimbabwe and Masau, reflecting our deep connection to the land and its cherished fruit. By combining these elements, Zimasa Vodka embodies the spirit and essence of Zimbabwe, that offers a unique and authentic taste experience.
Founded by three passionate individuals, Zimasa Vodka was created to celebrate their homeland’s rich heritage and unique culture. Inspired by their childhood memories of locals foraging Masau fruit with their families, they set out to create a beverage that captured the essence of Zimbabwe and after years of experimenting with traditional distillation methods and the finest local ingredients, they perfected a recipe that truly reflects their heritage.

Zimasa Vodka is meticulously handcrafted in small batches, the Zimbabwean Masau fruit is distilled a minimum of six times, at the 17th Century Hensol Castle Distillery by Master DIstiller – Dai Wakely who developed a process to enhance the flavour with distinct notes of dry apple and plum.
After perfecting the Zimasa recipe, we finalised our formula by summer of 2023. Since then, we’ve been actively promoting our brand across the UK, and have been privileged to win Silver at London Spirits Competition 2024 already.
As a company, we are committed to making our supply chain zero waste by 2028. We believe that sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a responsibility that we owe to our planet and future generations. We are constantly exploring new ways to reduce waste and minimise our environmental impact, and we excited to work towards this goal with our partners and suppliers
We are always looking for ways to reduce waste and maximise potential of natural resources. Currently, we are exploring various use cases for all the elements of the Masau fruit, starting with our premium distilled vodka, preservatives such as jams, chutneys, and marinades, and even transforming the waste, such as leftover skins and seeds, into animal feed. We believe that by utilising every part of the fruit, we can not only reduce waste but also create new products that are both sustainable and delicious.
Zimasa Vodka is a premium spirit that is crafted with great care and attention to detail. The Zimbabwean Masau fruits are distilled a minimum of six times using a unique process developed by Master Distiller – Dai Wakely. The result is a vodka with a distinct flavour profile that includes notes of dry apple and plum which provides an exceptional taste.
At the heart of Zimasa Vodka is the Zororo Trust. Founded by Zoro, Terence, and Nyasha it embodies their commitment to giving back to the communities in Murombedzi, Zimbabwe. Every donation directly supports community projects and your contribution will help to create a lasting impact and positive change to education, development, and human well-being.
At Zimasa Vodka, we are dedicated to making a positive impact. That’s why a portion of all our sales is donated to the Zororo Trust to fund their community programs and projects. Primarily, these donations sponsor students each year, covering their schooling costs to alleviate financial burdens and empower them to focus on their education. Additionally, the next phase of donations will focus on providing boreholes for water access and building infrastructure for community food storage using new drying and freezing solutions.
